About The Position

The Back of House - DMO/Busser clears and resets tables, cleans dining areas and tables, and washes dishes, pots, utensils, silverware, and glassware while ensuring IHOP standard operating procedures and guest cleanliness standards are met. The role supports the restaurant by maintaining clean and stocked service areas, dining rooms, and restrooms, and by properly handling supplies and trash. It also involves following IHOP uniform and appearance standards, completing assigned training, and carrying out other duties as directed by the General Manager, Assistant Manager, or acting supervisor. This is an hourly restaurant position in an energetic, fast-paced environment with opportunities for growth and teamwork. No prior experience is required.

Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos.
Ability to understand oral instructions in English and read English or Spanish well enough to understand supervisors’ instructions, coworkers’ and guests’ requests, and warning and safety labels.
Ability to use common-sense understanding to carry out simple one-step or two-step instructions and handle standardized situations with occasional or no variables.
Complete IHOP training coursework as assigned.
Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, including standing and walking regularly; frequently using hands and reaching; frequently stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling; and lifting or moving up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain professional working relationships with IHOP employees and guests.
Clear, clean, and reset tables; clean chairs, booths, and floors after guests leave.
Pick up, sort, and wash china, silverware, glassware, pots, pans, and utensils.
Follow dish machine and/or sink procedures according to IHOP standard operating procedures.
Unload, unbox, rotate, and store food, equipment, and supplies as needed.
Stock and rotate needed supplies in service areas and the dining room.
Dispose of trash properly.
Check restrooms hourly to ensure supplies are stocked and facilities are clean.
Perform cleaning duties according to posted cleaning charts.
Comply with IHOP uniform and appearance standards.
Complete other assignments or tasks as directed by the General Manager, Assistant Manager, or acting supervisor.
