Back of House - DMO/Busser
About The Position
The Back of House - DMO/Busser clears and resets tables, cleans dining areas, washes dishes and kitchenware, and helps ensure that IHOP standard operating procedures and guest cleanliness standards are met. The role supports restaurant operations by maintaining supplies, handling food and equipment deliveries, disposing of trash, and keeping restrooms and service areas clean and stocked. It also requires maintaining professional working relationships with employees and guests and following uniform and appearance standards. No prior experience is required; assigned IHOP training coursework is part of the role.
Requirements

- Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to understand oral instructions in English and read English or Spanish well enough to understand instructions, coworker and guest requests, and warning and safety labels.
- Ability to use common-sense understanding to carry out simple one-step or two-step instructions and handle standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
- Must meet physical demands that include regularly standing and walking; frequently using hands and arms, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling; and frequently lifting or moving up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain professional working relationships with IHOP employees and guests.
- Clear, clean, and reset tables; clean chairs, booths, and floors after guests leave.
- Pick up, sort, and wash china, silverware, glassware, pots, pans, and utensils.
- Follow dish machine and/or sink procedures according to IHOP SOP.
- Unload, unbox, rotate, and store food, equipment, and supplies as necessary.
- Stock and rotate supplies in service areas and the dining room.
- Dispose of trash properly.
- Check restrooms hourly to ensure supplies are stocked and facilities are clean.
- Perform cleaning duties according to posted cleaning charts.
- Comply with IHOP uniform and appearance standards.
- Perform other assignments or tasks as assigned by the General Manager, Assistant Manager, or acting supervisor.
