About The Position

We are seeking an experienced AWS Cloud Platform Engineer Lead to join our team. This role involves leading hands-on remediation of AWS cloud security vulnerabilities, developing and implementing engineering solutions, and mentoring team members. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in AWS engineering, security, and automation, with a focus on driving cloud transformation and platform engineering initiatives.

Requirements

  • Overall 10+ years of IT experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience in AWS.
  • Experience with AWS services like EC2, S3, Lambda, ALB, NLB, Sagemaker, and Bedrock.
  • Experience with on-premises to AWS cloud migration projects.
  • Provisioning infrastructure experience.
  • Strong experience with EKS.
  • At least 1 year of experience with Terraform.
  • Experience with networking and troubleshooting skills like VPC.
  • Any certification related to AWS is required.
  • AI exposure is required in some roles.
  • Team player attitude.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or related technical field. 8 years proven success overseeing the design, development, implementation, support, and secure operation of software systems, cloud platforms, infrastructure services, or enterprise applications. In lieu of a bachelor's degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required.
  • Strong hands-on AWS engineering experience.
  • Experience analyzing and remediating findings from cloud security, vulnerability management, configuration compliance, container security, and monitoring tools.
  • Strong leadership experience driving security remediation, cloud transformation, and platform engineering initiatives.
  • Experience with SRE principles, operational resilience, and transformation.
  • Solid understanding of software engineering practices, including build, integration, test, release, deployment, and automation using Python.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with regulatory compliance is a big plus.
  • Healthcare domain experience is a super plus.

Responsibilities

  • Leads hands-on remediation of AWS cloud security vulnerabilities, including findings related to IAM, network exposure, encryption, logging, patching, configuration drift, container security, and cloud service misconfiguration.
  • Develops and implements engineering solutions, automation, and guardrails to prevent recurring security vulnerabilities and system problems.
  • Evaluates new and existing cloud services, systems, and security controls by performing in-depth testing, end-user reviews, vulnerability validation, remediation verification, and performance assessments.
  • Improves engineering and cloud security knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing professional publications.
  • Acts as a mentor for junior and senior team members, with emphasis on secure cloud engineering practices, vulnerability remediation, automation, infrastructure as code, and AWS platform standards.
