About The Position

This role involves performing functional testing to isolate and repair customer-reported avionics system issues on aircraft, in accordance with FAA procedures. The technician will diagnose problems based on in-flight analysis or customer-provided information, troubleshoot to identify defective units or wiring discrepancies, and replace faulty components, repair wiring, or modify aircraft as needed. The position may require accompanying a pilot in flight to test repaired or aligned systems. Work will be performed using aircraft orders, wiring diagrams, and oral/written instructions.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in aircraft avionics system troubleshooting and repair.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience on Cessna/Beechcraft products.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an airport security badge through the local airport authority, if applicable.

Nice To Haves

  • College or technical school and/or military electronic schools preferred.
  • Airframe and Power Plant Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs the functional testing required to isolate a customer complaint in a particular avionics system and repairing that aircraft system in accordance with FAA procedures.
  • Based on in-flight analysis and/or evaluation of information received from the customer, diagnoses problems and takes corrective action.
  • Troubleshoots problems to defective units or wiring discrepancies.
  • Replaces defective units, repairs wiring and modifies aircraft as required.
  • As required, accompanies pilot in flight to functional test repaired systems and/or aligned systems.
  • Works from aircraft orders, wiring diagrams, oral and written instructions to perform job duties.
