Avionics Integrator Engineer (Hybrid: Montreal, Quebec)

CapgeminiMontreal, QC
CA$62,874 - CA$165,758Hybrid

About The Position

You will play a key role in developing and integrating the complete avionics suite for next‑generation aircraft. This includes interpreting and translating operator needs and airworthiness requirements into clear, actionable system specifications. You will work hands‑on with avionics suppliers to ensure these requirements are accurately implemented across all hardware and software components, guiding them through development, verification, and compliance activities. In this role, you will also support the full testing and integration lifecycle—participating in lab evaluations, system‑level assessments, flight‑test preparation, and troubleshooting efforts to ensure the avionics function safely, reliably, and as intended. Close collaboration with cross‑functional systems engineering teams, integration labs, and technical staff will be essential as you help shape, validate, and refine the aircraft’s avionics architecture.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering, systems engineering, or a related technical discipline
  • 5–10+ years of experience in avionics development and system integration
  • Strong knowledge of systems engineering methodologies and the V‑model development lifecycle
  • Hands-on experience with avionics integration for Part 25 certified aircraft
  • Proven experience managing and overseeing technical suppliers
  • Ability to interpret and analyze complex technical data, troubleshoot test anomalies, lead root-cause investigations, and document findings clearly and effectively
  • Adaptable, comfortable taking on diverse responsibilities, intellectually curious, and effective in cross-functional environments
  • Direct experience with airplane development programs especially experimental designs
  • Firsthand background in test planning and execution

Responsibilities

  • Update system requirements and architectures, review bus signals, implement configuration changes, and refine wiring designs.
  • Work closely with pilots and system owners—including avionics, flight controls, and electrical teams—to translate operational needs into avionics and display system requirements.
  • Verify that avionics systems align with applicable aviation standards (ARP 4754A, ARP 4761) and regulatory frameworks (Part 25, issue papers, etc.).
  • Provide technical oversight throughout procurement and development activities.
  • Lead avionics system integration efforts and ensure seamless interfacing with other aircraft systems.
  • Conduct thorough testing and validation campaigns to ensure systems meet performance and safety expectations.
  • Support cross‑functional teams by offering technical expertise, direction, and coordination.
