About The Position

We are looking for an experienced AV Technician II to lead large commercial AV installation projects. The successful candidate will have previous experience working with AV systems such as Crestron, BiAmp, Cisco, and Extron. This role involves supporting, leading, and mentoring team members, installing and servicing AV systems, interacting with customers, ensuring safety procedures are followed, completing paperwork, designing systems, and maintaining a high level of professionalism and safety. The role also includes leading projects at a site level and managing junior technicians.

Requirements

Ability to read and interpret AV functional and construction drawings
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with keen attention to detail
Flexibility to work in a variety of environments, from construction sites to finished corporate offices
Comfortable working at heights
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in the use of relevant tools and equipment.
Valid Driver’s License with clean abstract
Must be able to pass a background check
Able to work at a minimum with no supervision
Willing to start CTS Certification program within three months of employment
Willing to work one on-call shift per month

Nice To Haves

Certification with Crestron, QSC, CTS, Extron and BiAmp would be considered an asset
Post-secondary education in electronics, electrical, telecommunications, or equivalent would be an asset

Responsibilities

Support, lead, and mentor team members.
Install and service cabling infrastructure and audio / visual devices; includes pre-wiring, installation, termination, testing, reporting, and labelling per specifications / drawings.
Install audio / visual equipment, including: audio and video conferencing equipment, distributed audio, digital signage, sound reinforcement, control systems, public announcement systems and all presentation systems.
Interact with customers and prospects, ensuring all inquiries are handled professionally.
Ensure that safety and incident reporting procedures are followed.
Complete detailed and accurate paperwork.
Design systems and layout.
Maintain a high level of safety and professionalism.
Lead projects at a site level, manage a team of junior technicians as necessary.
Other duties as required.
