About The Position

Carvana is hiring an experienced Automotive Technician to perform automotive repairs and diagnostics on vehicles at a high-tech Inspection Center. The work ranges from light maintenance to complex repairs and heavy engine work across all makes and models, including electrical issues in electric and hybrid vehicles. The stated schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.; mandatory overtime may be required based on business needs. The position offers an hourly pay range of $21.00 to $32.50, with overtime paid at 1.5 times the regular rate. Carvana describes its Inspection Centers as vehicle reconditioning facilities where cars are inspected, repaired, and prepared for customers. Hiring is contingent on passing a background check. The role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Requirements

At least 3 years of professional automotive repair experience.
Ability to physically operate vehicle equipment and tools and lift up to 60 pounds independently.
At least 18 years of age.
Possess a valid driver’s license; some positions may be subject to a Motor Vehicle Records check.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing production environment and sometimes be exposed to heat or cold.
Use required safety equipment, which may include a face shield or goggles, non-slip shoes, gloves, a mask, and other protective garments and equipment.
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
Must pass a complete background check.

Responsibilities

Perform general to complex repairs on all makes and models, including timing belts, suspension systems, and heavy engine work.
Diagnose and repair advanced vehicle electrical issues, including on electric and hybrid vehicles.
Repair wheel bearings and axles.
Repair vehicle climate control systems, including air conditioning and heater cores.
