About The Position
McConnell Automotive is hiring an experienced GM Automotive Service Technician for its busy service department. The dealership offers a climate-controlled, OSHA-certified shop with current air-quality standards, state-of-the-art technology and equipment, special tools, and two stalls for main-line certified technicians. The work environment is described as clean, professional, and highly productive, with opportunities for advancement and manufacturer training. Technicians perform repairs and maintenance according to repair orders and manufacturer specifications, diagnose vehicle systems, road-test vehicles, and coordinate with Service Advisors about additional work and repair estimates.
Requirements
- Strong automotive background.
- Strong teamwork skills.
- Willingness to submit to a drug screen and background check.
- Clean and valid driver's license.
Nice To Haves
- ASE certifications are ideal.
Responsibilities
- Perform work specified on repair orders efficiently and in accordance with dealership standards.
- Test-drive vehicles and test components and systems using diagnostic tools and special service equipment.
- Diagnose, maintain, and repair automotive systems, including engines, transmissions, electrical systems, steering, suspension, brakes, and air conditioning.
- Communicate with Service Advisors so customers can be informed when additional service is needed.
- Estimate the time required for additional repairs.
- Execute warranty repairs according to manufacturer specifications.
