About The Position

Auto-Wares Group of Companies is hiring a full-time Counter person for its Cheboygan, Michigan store. This customer-focused role involves supporting customers with parts and services, completing sales through phone and in-person interactions, and developing strong knowledge of the products and services offered. The position also backs up delivery driving when needed and supports the store’s daily operations, including returns and assistance to newer personnel. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with Saturdays on rotation.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in the automotive field.
• Customer-focused approach and strong communication skills.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Valid driver’s license.
• No major driving violations.
• No more than two moving violations in the past 3 years if over age 25, or in the past 5 years if under age 25.
• No more than one at-fault accident.
• Must comply with all physical requirements, including completing a pre-employment physical and drug test.
• Able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds with both arms.

Responsibilities

• Establish positive experiences with every customer interaction.
• Conduct activities with a customer-focused perspective and provide efficient, accurate expertise.
• Finalize sales through phone calls, in-person communication, and other methods.
• Develop deep knowledge of the parts and services offered to customers.
• Offer customers all available product options and exemplify the company’s “Never Say No” values.
• Help maintain a clean and organized store appearance.
• Support daily store operations by processing returns and assisting newer store personnel.
• Provide backup delivery driving when needed.
