About The Position

The Whole Store Runs Through Parts. We're Hiring Two People to Help Us Run It. Twin Falls Subaru is adding two people to our parts team, and we'll be straight with you about the job: it moves. A tech needs a part right now because the car is on the lift. A customer is on the phone doing their best to describe a clip they don't know the name of. A special order just came in and two people are waiting on it. If that sounds like chaos, this probably isn't your seat. If it sounds like a shift that goes by fast, keep reading. Here's the thing about the parts counter: it's the hinge point of the whole dealership. Nothing in the shop moves without you, and a good chunk of what customers think about us gets decided right at your counter. It matters, and the people who get good at it tend to build long careers in this business. We're open on experience. If you've run a parts counter before, great, we'll pay you for it. If you haven't but you're organized, quick on a computer, and genuinely good with people, we'll teach you the rest.

Requirements

  • Real attention to detail. One wrong digit means the wrong part, and a wrong part means a car sits and a customer waits.
  • Stay level when three people need you at the same time, because some days they will
  • Be available for the Saturday rotation, and for the 9:00 to 6:00 shift once you're up to speed
  • Be comfortable on a computer and willing to learn our catalogs and DMS (we'll train you on both)
  • Communicate clearly with techs, advisors, and customers, who all speak slightly different languages
  • Be able to lift and move parts throughout the day, up to about 50 pounds
  • Show up reliably and take pride in getting it right
  • Carry a valid driver's license with a clean driving record

Nice To Haves

  • Dealership or independent shop parts people ready for a better store
  • Retail auto parts counter pros who want dealership pay and benefits
  • Warehouse, shipping and receiving, or inventory people who are organized and fast
  • Technicians who want to get off the tools but stay in the business
  • Anyone mechanically inclined who's good with people and wants to learn the parts side

Responsibilities

  • Helping walk-in and phone customers find the right part, including the folks who can only describe it with their hands
  • Looking up parts in the Subaru catalog and our system, and getting the number right the first time
  • Pulling and staging parts for our technicians so jobs keep moving and cars don't sit on the lift waiting
  • Placing special orders, tracking them, and following our special order parts process, so we can call the customer before they have to call us
  • Receiving stock, checking it in against the order, and putting it where it actually belongs
  • Keeping the shelves, bins, and back counter organized, because a messy parts room costs everybody time & money
  • Handling returns, cores, and credits cleanly so nothing gets lost
  • Helping with inventory counts and speaking up about what we should be stocking more of (including tracking lost sales)
  • Working shoulder to shoulder with our service advisors and techs all day long

Benefits

  • 401(k) retirement plan with employer match
  • Health and dental insurance
  • Accrued paid time off (PTO)
  • A lucrative employee vehicle buying and trade-in program
  • Great discounts when you purchase or lease a new vehicle through our local stores
  • Paid Subaru product and parts training
  • A clear path to grow
