About The Position

The Parts Counter Associate assists mechanics and customers with purchasing parts and supplies. The role tracks incoming and outgoing dealership parts, collects payment, ensures parts are billed correctly through the service department and collision repair, and packages and ships parts back to the manufacturer. It also involves maintaining records, identifying vehicle parts using hard-copy and electronic parts manuals, providing customer service and information by phone, communicating parts availability, and assisting with putting away orders and following up on backorders. The employee performs other duties assigned by the Parts Manager. The position is located at Toyota Warwick in Warwick, Rhode Island, and pays $16.00–$24.00 per hour. It may require up to 0–5% travel.

Requirements

Experience in the automotive parts field.
Customer service and organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with vehicle products is preferred but not required.
Tekion knowledge and experience are preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Track all incoming and outgoing parts for the dealership.
Collect payment for parts and ensure parts are billed correctly through the service department and collision repair.
Package and ship parts back to the manufacturer.
Maintain records, including tagging parts with the customer name and job number for reference.
Use hard-copy and electronic parts manuals to identify the correct parts for the make, model, and year of vehicles being serviced.
Provide high-quality customer service.
Answer phone calls and provide price quotes and other information.
Notify the Parts Manager about out-of-stock parts or materials needing immediate attention.
Notify the Service Advisor and/or customer when specialty parts arrive.
Notify body shops when all parts have arrived and when they will be delivered.
Assist with putting away orders in a timely manner.
Follow up on backordered parts.
Perform other duties assigned by the Parts Manager.
