About The Position
JAX Farm & Ranch in Lafayette is seeking a Sales Associate with an interest in outdoor power equipment and mechanical troubleshooting. The role combines customer service and sales with helping customers find answers, recommending products, and performing repairs and maintenance on power equipment. Associates also complete tasks that support efficient department operations and contribute to a positive, engaging store experience.
Requirements
- Previous knowledge of or retail experience with outdoor power or automotive equipment is required.
- Computer proficiency is required.
- Prior customer service experience is sought.
- Must have open availability and be able to work at least one weekend day.
- Ability to pitch in where needed.
- Works well with others.
- Organizational skills.
- Engaging and positive manner.
- Attention to detail.
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of brands carried by JAX.
- Cashiering experience.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers and provide honest, informative answers to questions.
- Recommend products that may meet customers’ needs.
- Perform repairs and maintenance on power equipment.
- Stock shelves and assist the Department Manager.
- Share customer feedback with Department Managers and the Buyers Team.
- Process payments accurately.
- Assist with visual merchandising.
- Maintain a clean, well-stocked work area.
- Complete record-keeping tasks and contribute to reports.
- Learn about products to answer customer questions effectively.
- Assist with loss prevention and inventory responsibilities.
- Communicate professionally and maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.
- Contribute to teamwork and build solid working relationships with co-workers.
