About The Position
Bumper to Bumper is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Automotive Machine Shop Technician for its Waukegan, Illinois store. The ideal candidate is proactive, adaptable, committed to high-quality results, and maintains strong communication and customer service standards. The role includes completing assigned projects, maintaining machine shop cleanliness, supporting customer satisfaction, and working with the manager to improve communication and service. It requires automotive mechanical expertise in engine teardown, following directions, understanding safety placards and hazardous-warning materials, and complying with applicable health and safety requirements. Preferred experience includes familiarity with engine components, precision measurements, machining processes, and shop equipment. Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must pass a drug screen.
- Able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds with both arms.
- Able to follow directions and read and understand common danger placards, labels, hazardous-warning literature, and site safety plans.
- Must comply with local and company health and safety legislation, laws, and policies.
