About The Position
We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Automotive Machine Shop Technician to join the Bumper to Bumper store in Waukegan, Illinois. The ideal candidate is proactive, adaptable, and committed to high-quality work, clear communication, and customer service. Preferred experience includes working in an automotive machine shop and familiarity with engine components, precision measurements, machining processes, and shop equipment. The role includes completing projects assigned by the manager, maintaining overall machine shop cleanliness, and working with the manager to improve communication and service. It requires automotive mechanical expertise in engine teardown, the ability to follow directions, and commitment to workplace safety and compliance with applicable health and safety laws and company policies.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must pass a drug screen.
- Able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds with both arms.
- Able to follow directions and read and understand common danger placards, labels, hazardous warning literature, and site safety plans.

- Experience in an automotive machine shop.
