About The Position

Carvana is hiring for entry-level automotive roles at its Inspection Center in Yaphank, New York. Available roles include Detailer, Lot Attendant, Photobooth Associate, and Inspection Associate. Detailers wash vehicles, clean interiors, and buff exteriors. Lot Attendants move vehicles between departments in the Inspection Center. Photobooth Associates photograph vehicles for customer listings, and Inspection Associates inspect vehicle interiors and exteriors and identify imperfections or defects. The position offers a starting wage of $19.00 per hour. The location offers two schedules: Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., or Sunday through Thursday, 6:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. Mandatory overtime may be required based on business needs. Entry-level employees receive training programs intended to help their skills and pay progress. The work takes place in a high-tech Inspection Center using state-of-the-art tools. Carvana reconditions vehicles at centers around the country, where vehicles are inspected, perfected, and photographed before appearing on its website. Hiring is contingent on passing a complete background check. The role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age.
Possess a valid driver’s license; some positions may be subject to a Motor Vehicle Records check.
Be able to physically operate vehicle equipment and tools and lift up to 60 pounds independently.
Be able to work in a fast-paced, changing production environment, sometimes while exposed to excessive heat or cold.
Use required safety equipment, which may include a face shield or goggles, non-slip shoes, gloves, a mask, and other protective garments and equipment.
Be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
Pass a complete background check.

Responsibilities

Detail vehicles by washing them, cleaning interiors, and buffing exteriors (Detailer role).
Move vehicles from one department to another within an Inspection Center (Lot Attendant role).
Photograph vehicles for customer listings (Photobooth Associate role).
Inspect vehicle interiors and exteriors and accurately identify imperfections or defects (Inspection Associate role).
