About The Position

BigBear.ai is seeking an Automation Test Engineer to perform manual and automated testing across software solutions, including web-based and mobile applications. The role includes writing and maintaining test plans, scenarios, scripts, and procedures; executing functional, manual, automation, smoke, and regression tests; and documenting defects in JIRA. The engineer will support software installation and configuration, production support incidents in a QA capacity, and release quality activities.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Sciences, Engineering, Physical Sciences, or a related field with applicable experience; applicable work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
At least 5 to 8 years of experience in automation testing.
Must be able to pass a DHS background check and must be a U.S. citizen.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript sufficient to read and understand back-end web code.
Some prior experience with the standard software development lifecycle, including analysis/design, development, testing, implementation, and support.
Clear written and verbal communication skills to write test plans and communicate bugs to developers and other stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Perform automation testing of web-based and mobile applications.
Use Playwright, Selenium, Cucumber, and Cypress.
Enter defects into the JIRA defect tracking system and report bugs and errors to the Product Team.
Maintain test plans, scenarios, scripts, and procedures.
Execute manual functional and automated tests based on requirements and the deployment environment.
Perform regression testing to ensure release quality.
Conduct functional testing to ensure features are complete and work as expected.
Support software installation or configuration.
Write test plans, test cases, test procedures, and test scripts from requirements and use cases, including API endpoint testing.
Create logs documenting testing performed during release sprints and observed defects.
Support production incidents in a QA capacity.
Develop and execute smoke and regression test suites.
Develop and execute functional black-box tests.
