About The Position

We are seeking an experienced L2 QA/Automation Tester for a long-term project in Albany, NY. Working closely with the QA Lead in an Agile/Scrum environment, the tester will build and maintain automation frameworks, write test scripts, execute functional and non-functional testing, and manage defects across complex systems. The role also involves supporting User Acceptance Testing, collaborating with business stakeholders, and reporting test progress, risks, issues, and metrics to leadership.

Requirements

• 4–7+ years of QA/testing experience across complex, high-profile projects in a matrix organization.
• At least 4 years of hands-on test automation experience using tools such as Selenium or Katalon Studio.
• At least 4 years of programming or scripting experience, such as Java or JavaScript, for automation solutions.
• At least 4 years of experience using test management and tracking tools such as Jira and Xray, including generating metrics, dashboards, and reports.
• Demonstrated experience developing test plans, executing functional testing, managing defect life cycles, and presenting test outcomes to senior stakeholders.
• Must be local to or willing to work hybrid in Albany, NY.

• Experience in Quality Assurance for Child Support or large-scale health and human services applications.

Responsibilities

• Participate in daily stand-ups, iteration planning, sprint reviews, and backlog refinement.
• Design, develop, and maintain automated testing frameworks and execution scripts.
• Develop test plans, scenarios, test cases, and scripts at sprint and project levels.
• Execute functional and non-functional tests, including performance and security/vulnerability testing, in alignment with project standards.
• Log, track, and manage defects using industry-standard practices.
• Assist with coordinating User Acceptance Testing (UAT), exploratory testing, and sprint demos with business stakeholders.
• Provide leadership with regular updates on progress, risk mitigation, issues, and test metrics.
