About The Position

Under close supervision, the QA Tester conducts internal quality controls to ensure established quality procedures and norms are followed. The role performs routine quality analyses and tests or inspections within a standardized quality control program, monitors and records inconsistencies, prepares standard quality analyses, recommends necessary procedure changes, and records and analyzes customer claims. The position performs specialized electrical testing on in-process and finished products, including specialty wire, low-voltage electrical products, and high-performance data communication cables. It also maintains documentation for wire and cable products, supports ISO Quality System procedures, follows environmental, health, and safety policies, and participates in Lean/5S, continuous improvement, and quality improvement initiatives. The role works collaboratively with colleagues and performs other assigned duties.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED preferred.
1–3 years of experience.
Must be able to perform basic arithmetic.
Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
Ability to learn new Quality Systems.
Ability to read and write clearly.
Ability to organize and prioritize work tasks efficiently.
Ability to communicate with all levels of employees.
Ability to multitask, follow provided priorities, and demonstrate strong troubleshooting skills.
Self-starter able to work with minimal supervision.
Ability to follow safety guidelines and wear required personal protective equipment.
Ability to work long hours while standing and operating machinery.
Ability to move heavy objects and materials.

Nice To Haves

Experience installing and testing specialty wire, low-voltage electrical products, and high-performance data communication cables is highly preferred.
Hands-on wire and cable experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform specialized electrical testing on in-process and finished specialty wire, low-voltage electrical, and high-performance data communication cable products.
Log, maintain, and complete required documentation for wire and cable products.
Support activities in compliance with ISO Quality System procedures.
Maintain compliance with Marmon IEI Environmental, Health, and Safety policies.
Assist with and participate in Lean/5S and continuous improvement initiatives.
Support and assist with Quality Improvement projects.
Work as a team with peers, supervisors, managers, and Marmon IEI employees.
Conduct routine quality analyses and tests or inspections within a quality control program.
Monitor and record inconsistencies with quality procedures and norms.
Prepare standard quality analyses and recommend necessary quality procedure changes.
Record and analyze customer claims.
Complete other projects, tasks, and duties as assigned.
