About The Position

Under close supervision, the QA Tester conducts internal quality controls to ensure established quality procedures and norms are followed. The role performs routine quality analyses and tests or inspections, monitors and records inconsistencies, prepares standard analyses, recommends necessary procedure changes, and records and analyzes customer claims. The position performs specialized electrical testing on in-process and finished specialty wire, low-voltage electrical, and high-performance data communication cable products. It maintains product documentation, supports compliance with ISO Quality System procedures and Marmon IEI Environmental, Health, and Safety policies, and participates in Lean/5S, continuous improvement, and Quality Improvement projects. The role collaborates with peers and employees across the organization and takes on other assigned projects and duties.

Requirements

1–3 years of experience.
Must be able to perform basic arithmetic.
Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
Ability to learn new Quality Systems.
Ability to read and write clearly.
Ability to organize and prioritize work tasks efficiently.
Ability to communicate with all levels of employees.
Ability to multitask, follow provided priorities, and demonstrate strong troubleshooting skills.
Self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Ability to work in a manufacturing environment that can be noisy.
Ability to follow safety guidelines and wear required PPE.
Ability to work long hours while standing and operating machinery.
Ability to work in high-temperature environments.
Ability to move heavy objects and materials.

Nice To Haves

High School Diploma/GED preferred.
Experience installing and testing specialty wire, low-voltage electrical, and high-performance data communication cables is highly preferred.
Hands-on wire and cable experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Monitor and record inconsistencies with quality procedures and norms.
Prepare standard quality analyses and recommend necessary quality procedure changes.
Record and analyze customer claims.
Perform specialized electrical testing on in-process and finished specialty wire, low-voltage electrical, and high-performance data communication cable products.
Log, maintain, and complete required documentation for wire and cable products.
Support activities in compliance with ISO Quality System procedures.
Maintain compliance with Marmon IEI Environmental, Health, and Safety policies.
Assist with and participate in Lean/5S and continuous improvement initiatives.
Support and assist with Quality Improvement projects.
Work as a team with peers, supervisors, managers, and other Marmon IEI employees.
Perform other projects, tasks, and duties as assigned.
