About the position
Samsung Austin Semiconductor is seeking an Automation engineering candidate to provide engineering support for leading the project management of new equipment installation from design conception, equipment qualification to fully customer acceptance. The successful candidate will be responsible for using Static and Dynamic simulation methods to determine the capital equipment need to maintain fully automated OHT delivery to Semiconductor process tools and material storage locations for a 24/7 semiconductor line. The role requires a BS Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical) or Computer Science, a minimum of 2 years of directly related experience, and AutoCAD certification and/or working experience. The candidate must have strong technical writing skills with the ability to simplify complex ideas, be self-motivated and directed, and have keen attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Conceptual design of new factory automation equipment additions that satisfy MFG/SAS internal customer needs
- Lead system design reviews with vendors
- Lead installation of the designed system by coordinating with vendors and contractors
- Perform QA/QC of incoming equipment prior to acceptance
- Coordinate shipping, receiving, storage, and staging logistics for all installation projects
- Provide 24X7 support for installation projects (7 days within a month on-call support is required)
Requirements
- Must have completed a BS Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical) or Computer Science.
- Minimum of 2 year of directly related experience preferred
- AutoCAD certification and/or working experience strongly preferred
- PMP (or similar) certification preferred.
- Automation and Semiconductor experience preferred.
- Ability to stay focus driving projects reaching on-time results in a fast paced manufacturing environment.
- Strong technical writing skills with ability to simplify complex ideas.
- Self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills with internal and external project stakeholders.
- Ability to communicate technical details both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to work across cross cultural settings and globally distributed projects.
- Ability to simulate complex systems of a fully robotically automated manufacturing facility.
- Examples of successful project management and/or certification (PMP).
- Always looking for opportunities to simplify, automated tasks, and build new projects.
- Understand business needs and come up with new engineering solution, strong background in working with data.
- Able to wear clean room suit and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) per the SAS Fab protocol.
- Work in tight fitting, Fab environment.
- Must be able to lift > 25 lbs.
- PC, MS Office [Word, Excel, PowerPoint], reporting capability.
