About The Position

Clean Harbors is hiring an Autoclave Technician at its La Porte, Texas facility to process medical waste on the medical processing side of the facility using an autoclave. The position is on second shift, 2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with overtime and Saturdays as needed. Training takes place on a day-shift schedule for several weeks. The base pay is $20 per hour; after training and moving to second shift, the employee receives a $1.75-per-hour shift differential. The role includes operating the autoclave, handling and preparing waste, loading and unloading route trucks, managing inventory ordering and receiving, and maintaining a clean and safe work area. Health and safety are emphasized throughout the work.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience and familiarity with Excel, Word, and similar software.
Ability to drive trucks within the facility.

Nice To Haves

One or more years of related labor and computer experience preferred.
Experience in medical waste or a medical facility is helpful.
Forklift skills preferred.

Responsibilities

Operate an autoclave to process medical waste.
Load and unload route trucks.
Prepare waste loads for shipment to the Recycle Center or Distribution Center.
Manage inventory ordering and receiving.
Perform general housekeeping and keep the work area clean.
Ensure waste is stored safely and properly.
