About The Position

Clean Harbors is seeking an Autoclave Technician in La Porte, Texas, to process medical waste in the medical processing area of the facility, including operating an autoclave. The position is on second shift, Monday through Friday, from 2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., with overtime and Saturdays as needed. Training takes place on a day-shift schedule for several weeks. Pay is $20 per hour, with a $1.75-per-hour shift differential after training when moving to second shift.

The role involves safe waste processing and handling, loading and unloading route trucks, preparing waste for shipment, managing inventory-related processes, and maintaining a clean work area. Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Familiarity with Excel, Word, and similar computer applications.
• Ability to drive trucks within the facility.

Nice To Haves

• One or more years of related labor and computer experience.
• Experience in medical waste or a medical facility.
• Forklift skills.

Responsibilities

• Comply with safe work practices, policies, and processes, and act safely at all times.
• Operate an autoclave to process medical waste.
• Load and unload route trucks.
• Prepare waste loads for shipment to the Recycle Center or Distribution Center.
• Manage the inventory order and receiving process.
• Perform general housekeeping and keep the work area clean.
• Ensure waste is stored safely and properly.
