About The Position

Pavion is seeking a Fire Alarm Technician to join its fire business unit. Pavion provides fire, security, and communication integration solutions, including the design, installation, service, and maintenance of fire alarm systems and related technologies. The technician services and troubleshoots alarm and security systems, performs testing and inspections, diagnoses and repairs equipment issues, and supports customers and internal teams in completing service work efficiently.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
3–5 years of experience servicing fire alarm systems or NICET II.
Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.
Basic knowledge of national and local alarm codes, including NFPA 72, NEC, and Florida Building Code.
Demonstrated responsibility, including punctuality, consistent attendance, good communication, and completion of required field documentation.
Ability to carry and climb step or extension ladders when needed and lift objects up to 50 pounds when needed.
Basic computer and tablet skills.

Responsibilities

Service, troubleshoot, and program burglar alarms, fire alarms, closed-circuit television, and access control systems.
Ensure equipment is functional and operational.
Diagnose system problems and failures to identify equipment and systems requiring repair.
Replace assigned system components, such as panels and audible/visual alarms.
Provide customer technical support, including remote phone diagnosis and troubleshooting signal issues related to formats and receivers.
Interact professionally with customers.
Coordinate with the manager and dispatcher to complete service and work orders efficiently.
Inform the dispatcher and/or manager about service status so appropriate action can be taken.
Test and inspect fire alarm systems.
Maintain assigned vehicle, tools, and equipment.
