About The Position

Pavion is seeking a Technician to join its fire business unit. The role services, programs, tests, and inspects fire alarm systems, verifies equipment operation, diagnoses system problems, and replaces components as directed. It also provides technical support to customers, including remote diagnosis and troubleshooting of signal issues. The Technician works with the Manager and dispatcher to complete service and work orders, communicate service status, and maintain assigned vehicles, tools, and equipment. Regular driving to customer and project sites is required.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
At least 1 year of experience installing or servicing burglar alarm, fire alarm, closed-circuit television, or access control systems.
Valid driver’s license; regular driving to customer and project sites is required.
NICET II Certification.
Specific experience with Alarm System Notifier, including troubleshooting and programming proficiency.

Responsibilities

Service, program, test, and inspect fire alarm systems to ensure proper operation.
Verify that equipment is fully functional and operational.
Identify causes of problems or failures in alarm systems and equipment to facilitate repairs.
Replace system components as directed, including panels and audible/visual alarms.
Provide technical support to customers, including remote phone diagnosis and troubleshooting signal issues related to formats and receivers.
Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with customers.
Collaborate with the Manager and dispatcher to complete service and work orders efficiently.
Update the dispatcher and/or manager on service status.
Maintain assigned vehicles, tools, and equipment.
