About The Position

Carvana is hiring an experienced Autobody Technician for its vehicle reconditioning operation in Belton, Missouri. The technician performs extensive bodywork on multiple panels, including heavy plastic welding and stapling; heavy metal pulling, straightening, shrinking, and stud welding; roof and rocker panel repair; and large-area bodywork, including Bondo repair. The role also includes training other autobody technicians.

The position is scheduled Monday through Thursday from 3:30 p.m. to 2:30 a.m., with overtime opportunities. Mandatory overtime may be required based on business needs. Technicians work with state-of-the-art tools in a high-tech inspection center and may work in a fast-paced production environment with exposure to heat or cold.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of professional automotive bodywork experience.
• Ability to physically operate vehicle equipment and tools and lift up to 60 pounds independently.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Possess a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing production environment and sometimes be exposed to excessive heat or cold.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Use required safety equipment, which may include a face shield or goggles, non-slip shoes, gloves, a mask, and other protective garments and equipment.
• Hiring is contingent on passing a complete background check.
• The role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Perform extensive bodywork on multiple vehicle panels.
• Perform heavy plastic welding and stapling.
• Perform heavy metal pulling, straightening, shrinking, and stud welding.
• Repair roofs and rocker panels.
• Perform large-area heavy bodywork, including Bondo repair.
• Train other autobody technicians.
