About The Position

Carvana is seeking an Experienced Autobody Technician to perform extensive bodywork on multiple vehicle panels at its high-tech Inspection Center in Belton, Missouri. The technician is expected to train other autobody technicians and perform work that includes heavy plastic welding and stapling; heavy metal pulling, straightening, shrinking, and stud welding; roof and rocker panel repair; and large-area heavy bodywork, including Bondo repair. The schedule is Monday through Thursday, 3:30 p.m. to 2:30 a.m., with overtime opportunities. Mandatory overtime may be required based on business needs. The role involves working in a fast-paced, changing production environment and may involve exposure to heat or cold. Applicants must be able to operate vehicle equipment and tools, lift up to 60 pounds independently, and use required safety equipment. Carvana describes itself as a used automotive retailer with vehicle Reconditioning Centers where cars are inspected, perfected, and photographed before being listed online. Employment is contingent on passing a complete background check. The role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Requirements

At least 5 years of professional automotive bodywork experience.
Ability to physically operate vehicle equipment and tools.
Ability to lift up to 60 pounds independently.
At least 18 years of age.
Valid driver’s license.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing production environment and sometimes be exposed to heat or cold.
Use safety equipment as required, which may include a face shield or goggles, non-slip shoes, gloves, a mask, and other protective garments and equipment.
Passing a complete background check is a condition of hiring.
