Auto Maintenance Tech I $4,000 Sign On Bonus (Manheim)
About The Position
Manheim, a Cox Automotive company, is hiring an Auto Maintenance Tech I to perform light-duty, intermediate-level repairs and maintenance on a variety of vehicles. The position offers an opportunity to develop automotive maintenance skills in a supportive environment. The role is on-site at a specified Cox location and works a day shift. The hourly base pay range is $20.10–$30.10; pay may vary based on location and the candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Additional compensation may include commission and/or an incentive program. The position includes a $4,000 sign-on bonus, subject to eligibility; internal candidates are not eligible for the new-hire bonus. Employment requires passing a pre-employment drug test. Cox does not currently test for marijuana as part of this pre-employment test for this position. The job is in a drug-free workplace, and prohibited drugs may not be possessed or used, or employees be under their influence, during work hours or on company property or in company vehicles. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of related work experience.
- Ability to drive standard, automatic, and electric vehicles.
- Valid driver’s license.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or GED.
- Current ASE certifications: G1, A4, and A5 status when required by leadership.
Responsibilities
- Gain familiarity with automotive maintenance concepts and practices.
- Perform maintenance including oil and filter changes, fuel filter changes, transmission flushes, spark plug replacement, and vehicle inspections.
- Test, maintain, and replace batteries; test and repair starting and charging electrical systems.
- Perform repairs involving tires, safety inspections, and interior and exterior components.
- Diagnose and repair brake, steering, and suspension systems.
- Evacuate and recharge air-conditioning systems.
- Maintain equipment.
- Use approved vendors to obtain parts.
- May upfit new vehicles with necessary equipment.
- Follow applicable procedures and regulations for recyclables, fluids, tires, and disposable trash.
