About The Position

Kemper is hiring an Auto Liability Adjuster Trainee to investigate auto claims and provide customer service. The role includes participating in Basic Claims training and any other selected programs of study. Travel may be required during training. Employees must maintain passing averages in formal courses, an acceptable level of job competencies, and a performance rating of “Meets Expectations” or higher. State licensing exams are required for the states handled, and employees must meet any applicable state deadlines for obtaining licenses.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree, or at least 1 year of insurance experience, or 3 years of equivalent professional experience.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Proficient typing and computer skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Bilingual ability is a plus but is not required.

Responsibilities

• Take statements from insureds, claimants, and witnesses.
• Obtain and review evidence, reports, and medical records.
• Investigate losses and identify coverage issues.
• Negotiate settlements with claimants and claimant’s attorneys.
• Research state laws and medical terms.
• Attend Basic Claims training and other selected training programs.
• Maintain passing averages in formal courses and an acceptable level of job competencies.
• Maintain a “Meets Expectations” or higher rating in formal performance evaluations.
• Pass required state licensing exams and comply with state licensing deadlines.
