About The Position

Crash Champions is hiring an Auto Body Technician to inspect and repair damaged vehicles. The technician plans repair processes, performs quality repairs while maintaining on-time status, and determines whether parts should be repaired or replaced based on safety, cost, and cycle time. The role also involves communicating with others about vehicle repair status, removing vehicle components to access repair areas, and supporting apprentice work when needed. This position is paid on a commission/flag-rate structure; flag pay is guaranteed to meet local minimum wage requirements for all hours worked each week. The stated compensation range is the average flag pay range for a typical full-time employee: $65,000–$153,000 per year.

Requirements

Ability to use a frame machine.
Knowledge of vehicle repair processes by manufacturer.
I-CAR welding certification.
Skill in analyzing and interpreting measuring data.
Ability to supervise repair personnel.
Must be able to pass a thorough background check.

Nice To Haves

Certification in body repair preferred.

Responsibilities

Examine damaged vehicles and efficiently plan the repair process.
Work and communicate with others regarding vehicle repair status.
Perform quality repairs while keeping on-time status in mind.
Decide whether to repair or replace parts, considering safety, cost, and cycle time.
Remove upholstery, accessories, electrical and hydraulic window operating equipment, and trim to gain access to vehicles and fenders.
Participate in all required safety meetings.
File, grind, and sand repaired surfaces using power tools and hand tools.
Direct an apprentice’s work when needed, including addressing unusual problems or questions and explaining procedures.
