About The Position

Crash Champions is a founder-led multi-shop operator providing collision repair services at more than 650 locations in 38 states. The Auto Body Technician examines damaged vehicles, plans and performs repairs, and coordinates with others regarding repair status. The role requires attention to repair quality, safety, cost, and cycle time. The position uses a commission/flag-rate pay structure; flag pay is guaranteed to meet local minimum-wage requirements for all hours worked each week. The listed compensation range is the average flag pay range for a typical full-time employee.

Requirements

Ability to use a frame machine.
Knowledge of vehicle repair processes by manufacturer.
I-CAR welding certification.
Skill in analyzing and interpreting measuring data.
Ability to supervise repair personnel.
Must pass a thorough background check.

Certification in body repair preferred.

Responsibilities

Examine damaged vehicles and efficiently plan the repair process.
Work and communicate with others about vehicle repair status.
Perform quality repairs while maintaining on-time status.
Decide whether to repair or replace components while considering safety, cost, and cycle time.
Remove upholstery, accessories, electrical and hydraulic window-operating equipment, and trim to access vehicle areas and fenders.
Participate in required safety meetings.
File, grind, and sand repaired surfaces using power tools and hand tools.
Direct an apprentice’s work when needed, including addressing unusual problems or questions and explaining procedures.
