About The Position
The Authorization Specialist works in the Centralized Scheduling Department at Avita Health System’s Crestline location. The role contacts payers to request service authorization and collects financial and/or demographic information from patients, along with clinical information from patient charts, orders, or providers.
Requirements
- Previous customer service experience.
- At least two years of experience in a healthcare setting performing related tasks.
- Familiarity with healthcare insurance processes.
Nice To Haves
- Associate degree in healthcare or business administration and/or related coursework.
- Successful completion of courses in medical terminology and human anatomy.
- Experience with EPIC information systems.
Responsibilities
- Contact payers to request service authorization.
- Collect financial and/or demographic information from patients.
