About The Position

The Authorization Specialist works in the Centralized Scheduling Department at Avita Health System’s Crestline location. The role contacts payers to request service authorization and collects financial and/or demographic information from patients, as well as clinical information from patient charts, orders, or providers. The position is scheduled Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., for 80 hours per pay period.

Requirements

• Previous customer service experience.
• At least two years of experience in a healthcare setting performing related tasks.
• Familiarity with healthcare insurance processes.

Nice To Haves

• Associate degree in healthcare or business administration and/or related coursework.
• Successful completion of courses in medical terminology and human anatomy.
• Experience with EPIC information systems.
