About The Position

This role involves managing the tax department and overseeing the preparation and filing of over 1000 EZ returns for individual clients. The position requires a thorough understanding of state and federal tax laws, ensuring compliance, and providing expert advice to clients. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated individual with strong technical, organizational, and communication skills, capable of working effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Requirements

Bachelors degree in Accounting or similar
Active Enrolled Agent certification or CPA license
3+ years’ tax accounting/preparation experience
Proficient computer skills
Strong organizational and time management skills
Strong communication and presentation skills
Strong technical skills
Self-motivated

Responsibilities

Manage the tax department, overseeing over 1000 EZ returns for individual clients
Review returns for accuracy and ensure they are filed in a timely manner
Support tax team members with advice and guidance to ensure tax returns are prepared and filed accurately, on time, and maintaining compliance
Have a thorough understanding of state and federal tax laws
Provide insight and advice to clients ensuring they understand their tax obligations and explaining the outcomes
Address inquiries/issues in a timely manner, offering educated answers and resolutions
Ensure compliance is maintained at all times, ensuring changes in tax laws are implemented immediately into client services
Work well in a team environment as well as independently
Work well in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, juggling multiple clients at a time
Other duties as assigned/as necessary
