About The Position

Cherry Bekaert is hiring an Audit Senior for its Coral Gables or Fort Lauderdale office in a hybrid role. The Audit Senior develops audit approaches, discusses engagement efficiencies and client-specific risks, and instructs and oversees other accounting and assurance staff throughout engagements. The role also includes reviewing complex client transactions, preparing and/or reviewing financial statements, completing general audit procedures, researching technical issues, and performing other engagement duties as assigned by supervisory personnel.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in public accounting.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting.
• CPA certification or eligibility to work toward obtaining a CPA license.
• Ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
• Demonstrated client-service orientation, integrity, project management ability, and leadership skills.
• Strong sense of urgency suited to a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Nice To Haves

• Experience using Engagement.
• Master's degree.

Responsibilities

• Discuss engagement efficiencies and client-specific risks.
• Develop audit approaches for engagement teams.
• Instruct and oversee fellow Accounting and Assurance staff throughout engagements.
• Broaden technical knowledge by reviewing complex client transactions.
• Prepare and/or review financial statements.
• Complete general audit procedures, including coordinating audit-closing communications, drafting client correspondence, and resolving open items.
• Research technical issues using online tools.
• Perform other engagement duties as needed and as assigned by supervisory personnel.
