About The Position

The Audit Senior is a key member of Schneider Downs’ Audit and Assurance Practice, delivering attest services to clients. The role contributes to risk-based audits, financial statement preparation, and accounting advisory opportunities, while communicating important engagement information to executive team members. It also supports staff development through coaching and mentoring. The position follows a hybrid work model, with the flexibility to work from home and in the office.

Requirements

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Accounting.
At least three years of public accounting experience.
Eligible for CPA licensure.
Ability to prioritize tasks and complete assignments within time constraints and deadlines.
Experience presenting data extraction, data analytics, and data visualization.
Strong leadership, training, and mentoring skills.

Responsibilities

Lead financial statement audits, reviews, and compilations across a variety of client industries.
Perform and document audit procedures in complex areas of accounting.
Interact proactively with client management to gather information, resolve problems, and recommend business and process improvements.
Keep managers and/or shareholders updated on engagement-related topics.
Research and analyze accounting and audit-related issues.
Use data extraction, analytics, and visualization tools to provide insights to clients.
Supervise, train, and mentor staff and interns on audit processes.
Assist with planning, preparing, and completing risk-based audits, including preparing financial statements.
