About The Position

A prominent national accounting and advisory firm is seeking an experienced Audit Manager (Bilingual: Japanese / English) to join its growing Japanese Services Practice in the Metro Detroit area. This is a key leadership role serving Japanese corporate clients in North America, overseeing audit engagements, and working alongside both local and international teams. Requirements

Professional fluency in Japanese and English (both written and spoken) is required.
5+ years of public accounting audit experience (Audit Senior, Supervisor, or Manager level).
Public accounting firm experience required (Big 4 or mid-tier firm background preferred).
Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
CPA license strongly preferred (or active eligibility).
Onsite/Hybrid availability in the Troy, MI area (100% fully remote is not permitted).
Candidates willing to relocate from other states are encouraged to apply (relocation reimbursement provided).
U.S. work authorization required.

Responsibilities

Lead, plan, and execute audit engagements for U.S. subsidiaries of Japanese parent companies (primarily in manufacturing, logistics, and trading sectors).
Act as the primary liaison between local U.S. management, Japanese executive teams, and multicultural engagement staff.
Review financial statements, audit documentation, and internal control assessments in compliance with U.S. GAAP and auditing standards.
Manage engagement economics, project timelines, budgets, and staff allocation.
Mentor, train, and supervise senior accountants and audit staff.
Support business development and networking opportunities with Japanese business leadership in the region.
