About The Position
The Audit Committee’s primary purpose is to support improving the community and assist the City Council in discharging its responsibilities for ensuring financial stability and monitoring implementation of the corrective actions identified in the Financial Recovery Plan, approved by the City Council on April 6, 2021. Audit Committee members serve without compensation. There is one current vacancy.
Requirements
- Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
- Applicants must be residents of the City of West Covina.
- Applicants must be registered voters of the City of West Covina.
- Applicants must submit a complete application, including answers to all supplemental questions.
- Applicants must submit a resume detailing relevant work and education history.
- Applicants must submit a cover letter explaining their interest in seeking appointment as an Audit Committee Member for the City of West Covina.
Responsibilities
- Monitor implementation of the Financial Recovery Plan.
- Monitor monthly financial reports to report potential deficits.
- Review the Comprehensive Annual Financial Reports.
- Make periodic reports to the City Council.
