About The Position

Hollywood, Florida Memorial Rehabilitation Institute provides highly specialized care ranging from complex multiple trauma, stroke and brain injury to physical and speech therapy. Inpatient care is offered at Memorial Regional Hospital South, with outpatient care available in five different locations. We also have a home health team and resources for long-term care at Memorial Manor, while also offering therapy for pediatric developmental diagnosis through Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital. Summary: Performs audiological and vestibular function testing and treatment.

Requirements

  • Masters: Audiology (Required)
  • Audiologist License (AY LICENSE) - State of Florida (FL)
  • BLS American Heart E-Card (BLS AHA ECARD) - American Heart Association (AMERICAN HEART)
  • BLS American Heart RQI E-Card (BLS AHA-RQI ECARD) - American Heart Association (AMERICAN HEART)
  • BLS Cert American Heart_non ecard (BLS AHA) - American Heart Association (AMERICAN HEART)
  • BLS Certification Grace (BLS GRACE) - Employee Grace Period for Essential Credential (GRACE)
  • BLS Cert Red Cross (BLS RC) - Red Cross (RED CROSS)
  • Complexity of Work: Requires critical thinking skills, effective communication skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
  • Required Work Experience: No prior work experience required.

Nice To Haves

  • Certificate of clinical competence- Audiology (CCC-A) is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs diagnostic testing to assess patient's hearing and vestibular status and to determine appropriate treatment.
  • Educates patients, caregivers, and family members on treatment options and continuing care.
  • Develops, documents, implements, and evaluates a plan of care.
  • Collaborates with patient care team to integrate and coordinate plan of care.
  • Care is provided through evidence based practice and research.
  • Provides or recommends personal and area sound modification devices and strategies, including hearing aids, implants, and alerting devices.
