About The Position

EOS IT Solutions is hiring a Sales Design Engineer to provide technical consulting and support for its sales and post-sales teams. The role develops project scopes of work, block flow diagrams, equipment lists, and customer proposal materials, and may also provide project engineering and ongoing consultation for clients. It includes technical review of audiovisual projects, end-user training, and support for implementation teams. The successful candidate will bring comprehensive AV industry knowledge and experience with AV system design principles, IP networks, implementation, and deployment methodologies for projects of varying scale. The role requires travel to customer sites up to 50% and flexibility to work across time zones with a global team, including international travel when needed. The stated pay range is $85,000–$105,000 USD.

Requirements

At least 5 years of design experience in the AV industry.
Degree-level qualification in a formal technical discipline, or at least 8 years of professional AV industry experience in implementation and/or system support.
Knowledge of design implementation, installation, or service experience with control technologies such as Crestron, AMX, and Extron; audio technologies such as BIAMP, QSC, and POLYCOM; and video technologies such as Cisco, Polycom, QSC, Crestron, Lightware, Teams, and Zoom.
VoIP design and deployment knowledge.
CTS certification or higher.
Excellent communication skills and confidence dealing with demanding clients, building contractors, architects, and other technical project-team members.
Knowledge of audio systems design, including conferencing audio, digital sound systems, public address, and event spaces.
Knowledge of video systems, including large-format displays, projection, and video-wall image processing.
Knowledge of control systems, including touchscreen controls, automation, and smart-building technology.
Knowledge of video-conference systems, integration techniques, and deployment.
Knowledge of audiovisual system infrastructure design and planning.
Flexibility to work across time zones as part of a global team and undertake international travel with notice if necessary.
Full driving license that enables the candidate to meet driving requirements.

Nice To Haves

CTS-D or CTS-I certification.
Formal BA in an Engineering field.
Experience with AutoCAD, BIM software, or similar.
Experience with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
Experience with Ease Software.
Shure, QSC, or Lightware certifications.

Responsibilities

Technically support Project Managers and Implementation Teams, including assisting with hands-on and remote commissioning where required.
Produce or assist with technical training for internal and external end-users.
Amend and adapt audiovisual system designs, including CAD schematics and project requirements.
Keep current with technical aspects of installed systems through manufacturer training.
Create system scopes of work and bills of materials for client quotes, including allocation of professional service hours.
Review and approve technical documents, including schematics, rack drawings, layout drawings, and detailed technical information for IP systems, for handover to Project Management for deployment.
Review and provide technical leadership on project bids for the client base.
Provide project technical status and feedback to the Project Manager, Engineering Department, and Account Manager through verbal and documented post-mortems, helping improve internal and external processes and designs.
Provide technical consulting to the sales force and generate project scope-of-work documents, block flow diagrams, equipment lists, and proposal materials.
Provide post-sales project engineering or ongoing project consultation for clients.
Conduct technical reviews of audiovisual projects and support end-user training and implementation teams.
