About The Position

MCS is hiring for an Audio Visual Engineer / Estimator in Orlando, FL. This is a full-time, permanent position with benefits. The Audio Visual Engineer / Estimator must demonstrate a strong ability to analyze project specifications and accurately estimate the costs associated with AV components, labor, and materials. The role requires good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team setting. Candidates must keep abreast of industry trends and developments, as well as applicable Government regulations. The position is responsible for designing, preparing, and/or coordinating the preparation of full estimates on large and complex AV projects as required by client’s documents, and provides complete conceptual and total bid price. Requirements

CTS certification
Minimum of 3 years of experience as an AV Estimator or Engineer
In-depth knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC)
Proficiency in estimating software
Strong understanding of bid documents, prints, and specifications
Ability to read and interpret prints, shop drawings, and specifications
Strong material selection skills based on project requirements
Excellent ability to make basic electrical calculations
Demonstrated capacity to manage deadlines and work on multiple projects
Proven experience in providing value engineering solutions
Exceptional problem-solving skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
Knowledgeable in Crestron, Extron and AMX
A current passport is required for Overseas travel
Obtain and maintain required certifications or licenses through the duration of the project or contract
Possess a valid driver's license and a clean driving record
Ability to operate company vehicles safely and responsibly
Ability to obtain and maintain a US government security clearance (if required)
Willingness to relinquish foreign citizenship if dual citizenship is held and a security clearance is required

Bachelor's degree preferred
Field experience is a plus

Responsibilities

Review bid documents, prints, and specifications to understand project requirements
Select appropriate materials based on prints and specifications
Make basic electrical calculations for feeders, panels, transformers, and voltage drops
Write comprehensive scopes of work for estimates
Utilize estimating software, preferably Procore, to prepare accurate cost estimates
Prepare bills of materials (BOMs) and request quotes from vendors and subcontractors
Analyze quotes received and make budget decisions
Manage deadlines and capacity to work on multiple projects simultaneously, if required
Provide value engineering (VE) solutions to increase project profitability
Design/prepare and/or coordinate the preparation of full estimates on large and complex AV projects as required by client’s documents
Provide complete conceptual and total bid price
