About The Position
Granite State Independent Living is hiring per-diem Attendant Care Employees in Barrington, New Hampshire. The role provides compassionate, in-home and community-based support to consumers while promoting their independence. Schedules are set by consumers and range from 8 to 10 hours per week. The position pays $18.00 per hour. Granite State Independent Living is a statewide nonprofit and New Hampshire’s only Center for Independent Living. Its work focuses on education, information, advocacy, support, and transition services for people with disabilities and underserved youth. The organization delivers its mission through Home Care Services, Community-Based Disability Supports, and Employment Services, and is committed to personal choice and direction.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must be able to frequently lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds or more.
- Must have adequate car insurance, if applicable.
- Must pass a criminal background check.
Responsibilities
- Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, toileting, transferring, and eating.
- Provide in-home care.
- Assist with range-of-motion activities and exercises.
- Perform laundry, meal preparation, housekeeping, and organization tasks.
- Assist with ambulation and transfers.
- Use mechanical lifting devices; training is provided if necessary.
- Remind consumers when it is time to take their medication.
- Support consumers in the community, including running errands.
