About The Position

The Athletic Trainer specializes in the health care of athletes. The trainer plays a unique role in preventing, recognizing, managing, rehabilitating and educating the athlete/family in sports injuries. Athletic Trainers play a role in planning and implementing specific treatment programs for individual patients according to the principals and practices of athletic training. In the occupational health clinic, the athletic trainer performs testing as part of pre-employment, post-accident and annual testing. Athletic trainer will be trained to perform strength testing for post offer purposes, Breath Alcohol, Drug Screen collections, audiometer, respirator fit testing and spirometry testing. The athletic trainer will assist in the flow of the clinic by greeting customers, answering phones, communicating with patients and employers. Certified and perform urine collection and breath alcohol testing for both DOT and NON DOT standards. Will be knowledgeable of the post offer physical process and will play a significant role in the testing of the patient. Will provide medical assistance to the physician during workers compensation care and sports medicine patients. Will document on the services and complete documentation on a daily basis so charges can flow within the EMR system. The Technician will maintain knowledge of the needs and customer satisfaction of the companies contracted for services. The athletic trainer will perform patient education as directed by the physician including; crutch training, splint application, brace application. The athletic trainer will assist in donning and doffing casting applications. The position also requires assisting the physician in performing in office procedures including but not limited to joint injections, draining of fluid, ultrasound guidance. Requirements

  • Minimum Required Experience: clinical experience with athletes and acute care of injuries
  • Minimum Required Education: Bachelors degree in Athletic Training
  • CPR Certification
  • Current state licensures as Licensed Athletic Trainer
  • Current NATA Certificate

Nice To Haves

  • Two to three years of preferred experience
  • Preferred Education: Bachelors degree in Athletic Training
  • DOT collector certification
  • BAT collector certification
  • CAOCH certified
  • NIOSH certified
