About The Position

Confluent Health System Solutions is hiring an Athletic Trainer for Emory Sports Medicine Outreach in a North Fulton County secondary school setting. The role supports student athletes across all sports and home games, with travel for football and other sports as needed at the discretion of athletes, coaches, and Athletic Directors. The Athletic Trainer is responsible for injury prevention and treatment and provides athletic training services that support the School Athletics strategic plan and Emory’s Sports Medicine Outreach vision.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science degree.
NATA certification.
Current Basic Life Support/CPR card.
Current NATABOC certification and eligibility for licensure in the state of Georgia.
Ability to work effectively and independently with students, staff, faculty, alumni, and community members.
Strong writing, communication, administrative, and organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

Master’s degree.
Basic First Aid.
Two years of athletic training experience.

Responsibilities

Assist with injury and illness prevention, recognition, evaluation, management, treatment, and rehabilitation for student athletes.
Provide health care education and counseling to student athletes participating in the athletics program.
Cover some nights, weekends, occasional holidays, and travel as necessary with selected teams.
Document and maintain accurate injury records.
Organize rehabilitation and injury prevention programs.
Cooperate and collaborate with strength and conditioning staff.
Coordinate and oversee necessary medical referrals.
Collaborate with team physicians, physical therapists, and other allied health-care providers.
Communicate directly with coaches, parents, student-athletes, athletic administration, and other stakeholders when appropriate.
Provide Athletic Training Room coverage during scheduled open hours and see walk-in athletes.
Perform other duties and administrative tasks assigned and commensurate with normal sport athletic training service activities.
Promote and support the strategic plan of School Athletics and the Emory vision of Sports Medicine Outreach.
