About The Position

The Department of Intercollegiate Athletics sponsors 22 sports at the NCAA Division I level. All sports compete in the Big West Conference except Football (Big Sky Conference) and Wrestling (PAC-12). Women's NCAA Division I sports programs include basketball, volleyball, soccer, softball, cross country, indoor track and field, outdoor track and field, swimming and diving, tennis, golf and beach volleyball. Men's NCAA Division I sports programs include football, basketball, baseball, cross country, golf, swimming and diving, tennis, indoor track and field, outdoor track and field, soccer, and wrestling. Reporting to the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Internal Operations with general direction from the Athletic Equipment Services Specialist, the Athletic Equipment Services Coordinator provides support with maintenance, repairs, and inventory of Olympic sports equipment, apparel, and the equipment room. The incumbent maintains close communication with sport administrators to facilitate sport expectations while providing excellent customer service to student-athletes, coaches, and institutional staff members. The Athletic Equipment Services Coordinator will provide assistance in managing aspects of athletic equipment operations to adhere to budget controls, department guidelines, and NCAA regulations.

Requirements

  • General knowledge of equipment, materials, and supplies used in competitive sports.
  • Working knowledge of proper methods of cleaning, maintaining, and storing athletic equipment.
  • Ability to take inventory and maintain various types of records.
  • Ability to supervise and work with assistants.
  • Demonstrated customer service experience requiring a very high level of diplomacy and professionalism.
  • One year of experience which would provide adequate training for supervising the equipment and supply services in a college athletic program.
  • Must have a valid California driver's license.
  • Possession of or ability to obtain an American Red Cross First Aid Certificate.

Responsibilities
