About The Position

The Coordinator of Academic Support Services for Athletics is responsible for organizing and running all study halls and study times for student athletes and/or assigned sports programs. This role involves scheduling tutors and learning specialists, conducting weekly organization meetings with individual players, and maintaining daily communication with coaches. The coordinator will track the weekly attendance and academic performance of student athletes, generate attendance reports for coaches, and meet with coaches weekly to discuss academic progress and concerns. The position also includes participating in team functions, meeting with recruits and their parents to explain support services, and potentially traveling with assigned sports programs. Additionally, the coordinator will communicate with faculty to monitor classroom behavior and academic progress.

Requirements

  • Relevant Bachelor's Degree.
  • Up to 2 years of experience in tutoring and/or assisting students with their daily academics and development of study skills.
  • Proficient with computer software including word processing, spreadsheets, database management, internet and e-mail required.

  • Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
  • Familiarity with new NCAA academic reform initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in team functions.
  • Meet with recruits and parents of recruits to give an overview of the support services offered to our student-athletes.
  • Communicate with faculty on a weekly basis to track classroom behavior and academic academic progress.
