About The Position

Visiting Angels of Lawton is hiring At Home Caregivers to serve clients in Altus, Snyder, Cache, Lawton, Apache, Elgin, and nearby areas. Caregivers help enrich clients’ quality of life and support their wellness in accordance with individualized care plans. The work may include personal care, companionship, meal preparation, light housekeeping, mobility support, medication reminders, and accompanying clients on errands or appointments. Advanced training opportunities in dementia and Alzheimer’s care are available.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver’s license, car insurance, and a reliable personal vehicle for transporting clients.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
First Aid and emergency response training; training is provided if needed.
Excellent time-management skills and ability to manage multiple duties.
Reliable transportation to and from client homes at scheduled times.
Physical endurance for tasks such as carrying groceries and physically supporting a client.
Comfort performing housekeeping and cooking duties while adhering to applicable dietary constraints.
Ability and willingness to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards, including a background check.
Compassion, understanding, and a desire to brighten clients’ days.

Nice To Haves

Interest in broadening caregiving skills through advanced training in dementia care and/or Alzheimer’s care.

Responsibilities

Assist clients with personal care and hygiene.
Help clients with light physical exercise and walks.
Plan and prepare meals with clients while following applicable dietary constraints.
Perform light housekeeping.
Report changes in clients’ health and unusual incidents.
Provide pleasant, supportive companionship.
Respond quickly and responsibly in emergencies.
Accompany and supervise clients during shopping trips.
Remind clients to take prescription medications appropriately.
Assist clients with mobility and ambulation at home and during appointments or errands.
