About The Position

Visiting Angels of Webster Groves is hiring At Home Caregivers to serve clients in Chesterfield and surrounding local communities. Caregivers help enrich clients’ quality of life and support their wellness in accordance with individualized care plans. The role includes personal care, companionship, household assistance, transportation and mobility support, and responding to emergencies. Advanced training opportunities in areas such as dementia and Alzheimer’s care are available for caregivers who want to broaden their skills.

The position offers flexible scheduling, competitive wages, and growth opportunities. Shift options include long shifts of 7–12 hours and short shifts of 2–6 hours.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license, car insurance, and a reliable personal vehicle for transporting clients.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Training in First Aid and emergency response; training is provided if needed.
• Excellent time-management skills and ability to manage multiple duties at once.
• Reliable transportation to and from client homes at scheduled care times.
• Physical endurance for tasks such as carrying groceries and physically supporting a client.
• Comfort performing housekeeping and cooking duties while following applicable dietary constraints.
• Willingness and ability to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards, such as background checks.
• Compassion, understanding, and a desire to brighten clients’ days.

Nice To Haves

• Interest in broadening caregiving skills through advanced training in dementia care and/or Alzheimer’s care.

Responsibilities

• Help clients with personal care and hygiene.
• Assist clients with light physical exercise or walks.
• Plan and prepare meals with clients, observing applicable dietary constraints.
• Perform light housekeeping duties.
• Report health changes or unusual incidents.
• Provide pleasant, supportive companionship.
• Respond quickly and responsibly in emergencies.
• Accompany and supervise clients during shopping trips.
• Remind clients to take prescription medications appropriately.
• Assist clients with mobility and ambulation at home and during appointments or errands.
• Transport clients using a reliable personal vehicle.
