About The Position

Visiting Angels of Brownwood is hiring At Home Caregivers to serve clients throughout Brownwood, Early, Bangs, Blanket, Comanche, and surrounding areas. Caregivers support clients’ wellness and enrich their quality of life in accordance with their individual care plans. Work may take place in clients’ homes or at facilities, depending on location. Flexible schedules and full-time and part-time hours are available. Visiting Angels also offers advanced training opportunities, including dementia care and Alzheimer’s care.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license, car insurance, and a reliable personal vehicle for transporting clients.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• First Aid and emergency response training; training is provided if needed.
• Excellent time-management skills and ability to handle multiple duties at once.
• Reliable transportation to and from client homes at scheduled times.
• Physical endurance for tasks such as carrying groceries and physically supporting a client.
• Comfort performing housekeeping and cooking duties while following applicable dietary constraints.
• Willingness and ability to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards, including a background check.
• Compassion, understanding, and a desire to brighten clients’ days.

Nice To Haves

• Interest in broadening caregiving skills through advanced training in dementia care or Alzheimer’s care.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with personal care and hygiene.
• Help clients with light physical exercise or walks.
• Plan and prepare meals with clients.
• Perform light housekeeping duties.
• Report health changes or unusual incidents.
• Provide pleasant, supportive companionship.
• Respond quickly and responsibly in emergencies.
• Accompany and supervise clients during shopping trips.
• Remind clients to take prescription medications appropriately.
• Assist clients with mobility and ambulation at home and during appointments or errands.
• Transport clients using a personal vehicle.
