About The Position

Visiting Angels of Lindsay is hiring a reliable, compassionate, and dependable At Home Senior Caregiver to provide non-medical care to adults and seniors in the Porterville, California area. The role supports clients so they can remain in their homes, with caregiver assignments matched to individual staff needs and client needs. The caregiver works with minimal supervision and communicates availability to the Scheduler weekly or as required.

Requirements

At least 1 year of caregiving experience; 2 years is a plus.
Strong professionalism and reliability.
Valid California Driver’s License.
Personal, reliable transportation to and from shifts.
At least 18 years of age.
Self-directed and able to work with minimal supervision.
Must comply with all agency policies.
Must pass a background check and drug test.
Must be able to stand, bend, and lift up to 25 pounds.

Nice To Haves

Two years of caregiving experience.
Dementia or Alzheimer’s experience.
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) qualification.

Responsibilities

Provide personal care and continuous companionship to clients while on duty.
Assist with meal planning, food purchases, and food preparation; wash dishes and clean the kitchen after meals.
Help clients maintain a clean, healthy, and safe environment by providing non-medical care.
Observe clients’ general physical, emotional, and mental conditions and report changes.
Keep appropriate records of activities in the client’s home.
Help provide clients with a sense of security and protect them, as much as possible, from harm related to the effects of their illness.
Assist clients as needed, excluding medical care; duties may include light housekeeping, transportation, and medication reminders.
Communicate work availability to the Scheduler weekly or as required.
