KKR's Infrastructure Private Equity group is a dedicated investment strategy focused on control investments and corporate partnership deals with exceptional downside protection across a range of sectors. The infrastructure group at KKR has grown rapidly amid investor interest in the space, scaling 5x+ in the last 5 years, from $17 billion AUM in 2020 to $95 billion today. KKR is expanding the team to support expected future growth. Recent investment activity has concentrated in areas like energy transition (renewables development, operating power, climate growth), digital infrastructure (fiber-to-the-home, hyperscale data centers), transportation and logistics (aviation/airport services, aircraft leasing), and industrial infrastructure (contract manufacturing in pharma, beverages). The team invests from a number of equity funds across the risk-return spectrum, including a $19 billion Americas/Europe flagship fund, a $13 billion core infrastructure fund, a $7 billion Asia fund, a $3 billion climate growth fund, and $10 billion of private wealth capital. Investments range from control buyouts in operating businesses, to corporate partnership deals, to growth-oriented financings.
